Travel from Paris airports to central Paris

The suburban train “RER B” brings you to central Paris from both the Orly (south of Paris) and Charles de Gaulle (north of Paris) airports. Follow the “Paris by train” or “RER B” signs in the airport (in Orly you have to take the “Orlyval” train to get to the nearest RER B station, that is Antony). From Orly you can also use the airport bus, called “Orlybus”, to Denfert Rochereau station in Paris, which is close to Paris Observatory. Airport buses (Air France) also connect Charles de Gaulle airport with Denfert Rochereau square, but they are less frequent than the train.

You can buy tickets to Paris at vending machines or – depending on the Terminal – at a ticket counter. Price about 10 Euros. The tickets to Paris are valid for a combined trip RER/Metro. The “Orlybus” ticket can be bought on the machine at the bus stop or directly on the bus. This ticket is not valid for the metro.

You can reach Paris Observatory by metro from all train stations terminating in Paris.

From Gare du Nord you can also use RER line B (choose southward direction: St. Rémy les Chevreuse or Robinson). Get of at stop Denfert Rochereau.

A metro & RER map is available at http://www.ratp.fr/plan-interactif/ .

Travel by car

If you come by car, you can enter Paris Observatory at 77 avenue Denfert Rochereau, but you need a special permit. Please contact the local organisers in advance. Note, however, that a car is not necessarily helpful in downtown Paris.
